Khai is the lead singer of a straight edge band called Second Combat, He had spent almost 20 years in spreading the political, drug-free, and positive ideas. After signing up with a straight edge label ”Commitment Records” from Netherlands in 2006, Second Combat became the first Malaysian band to successfully tour in Europe in cooperation with a French band called Backsight. In 2009, they did a split Ep with a Hungarian band called Motivation, then in 2012, they released a full-length album with a Swiss/French record label called Rude Kids Crew.
They participated in several international compilations in France, Belgium, and the Philippines. Currently, they are expected to release a split album with an Indonesian Band called Straight Answer and it will be their final discography. During their existence, Second Combat has been appointed as the ambassador for a nonprofit organization called Amnesty International in 2012/2013 and toured Malaysia for several times, Indonesia 4 times, Singapore 4 times, Thailand and Philippines once, they also appeared in countless magazines, radio stations, and on TV interviews. Due to their hard efforts and being an outspoken and a political band, Second Combat is well known in Asia.
After college in 99, With the experience from working in Sales and Marketing In the banking and
corporate industries, Khai used his skills to convince kids to embrace his positive ideas, thus lots of kids began to believe and follow-up his ideas of being drug-free for life, but he didn’t only inspire kids but also he inspired few bands to become straight edge such as Kids On The Move, Eleven, Last minutes, Until The End, and Channel-X, Till this current moment there are many other new Straight Edge bands on his list, for example, Touchdown, Homerun, Heart A Tack and X-kids. In fact, his ideas were recognized by a couple of famous bands such as Hujan and Pesawat. Subsequently, some underground band members started to embrace Straight Edge lifestyle such as Zero.O, Seven Eight Six, Skunkfix, On Your Side, Naratu, Thy Regiment, Heart A Tack, Strikeout and much more started to acknowledge his messages and began to follow him including bands in Indonesia and Philippines.
KHAI is an active member of a few non-profit organizations such as Malaysia Adolescent Health Association, Malaysia Substance Abuse Association, Malaysia Council Tobacco Control.
Also, Khai was appointed as an ambassador for many NGOs and Companies:
• In his personal achievement, Khai has been recognized in Australia. He was appointed as an ambassador for a non-profit organization called Untoxicated in 2013.
• He was a brand ambassador for a straight edge clothing brand called Parental Advisory Clothing in Indonesia.
• He was also an ambassador for a local NGO called Malaysia Fitness and Anti-Doping Association.
• In 2015, an advertising company called "We people" knew what he was doing and asked him to be a brand ambassador for the company.
• The advertising company has been servicing a telecommunications company called "Altel" which is owned by Malaysia’s well-known businessman Syed Al-Bukhari. Altel observed his efforts on helping people and appointed Khai to be one of the ambassadors for the community campaign called "Terima Kasih Sama Sama”.
His stories spread to Hong-kong and have been advertised in an online magazine called " Unite Asia". A company called "Our Better World” from Singapore heard about him and decided to make a short film about his stories. He was also invited to speak at TED X Asia 2014 about his ideas. Now his successful story spread to the United States and got the interview in a music magazine called "Maximum Rock n Roll" from San Francisco.

The band was formed in 1996 and embraced Straight Edge in 1999. Most of the band members turned to Straight Edge which is a totally clean lifestyle of no smoking, drinking, and consuming drugs and some are environmentally conscious, due to that it was hard for them to have a show because they were always raided by authority. After hard years, Khai initially registers his company called “United Front" which is taken from his skateboard collective in 1998. He thought that authority will not raid the shows and detain the kids, but he was wrong. While working in a local college he was advised by a guy to open up an association to be safe. He began to learn how to open an association and quit his job after that because he thinks it's really important to have an association that will ultimately protect the kids from getting arrested for playing music. He thinks that playing music is not a crime, compared to not doing anything and is easily driven to drug use. Without any funding, he started to enter schools with the presentations he created. He told stories about his life and how he become straight edge. In 2012, he acquired a friend on how to get funding for the association. So, his friend introduced him to Myharapan Foundation and he was funded from there to enter schools without worrying about not having any salary. Throughout the years, he has been to 300 schools and universities and talked to thousands of kids all over Malaysia. His work has been acknowledged by the government, not long after, the government started to seek his advice on how to work with the youth especially in campaigning against drugs. Khai uses empowerment instead of enforcement kids, which is pretty effective. He had been invited to government workshops and conferences to share his ideas on how to confront the drugs problem in Malaysia. So far to this date, DFYA signed almost 250 bands and have 8k followers.
